About The Therapist
Richard H. Stout has been in Private Practice in Central Florida since 1992.
Richard earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Comparative Religions from Carson-Newman College, and later was awarded a Master of Science Degree in Counseling Psychology from Nova Southeastern University.
Richard is licensed by the State of Florida as a Psychotherapist, is a National Certified Counselor, and is certified by the National Association of Forensic Counselors as a Clinical Criminal Justice Specialist. He is also a Certified Traumatologist and a Florida Supreme Court Certified Divorce/Juvenile Dependency/Civil Mediator.
He has had additional training and experience in Psychiatric Triage in the ER at Central Florida Regional Hospital, providing individual and group psychotherapy services for inpatient treatment programs at Florida Hospital East (formerly Orlando General Hospital), South Seminole Hospital (formerly West Lake Hospital), Lakeside Alternatives (formerly Orange County Mental Health Services) and The Center for Drug-Free Living. In addition, Richard has facilitated numerous Critical Incident Stress Debriefings (CISD) for victims of traumatic events in the workplace.
Prompted by his interest in working with families transitioning through the divorce process, Richard became certified in 1995 by the Florida Supreme Court as a Divorce Mediator. Since 1996, through his private mediation practice, he has been actively mediating in all family matters involving pre- and post-divorce issues.
